Pharmacological effect. It has a detoxifying and rehydrating effect. It compensates for sodium deficiency in various pathological states of the body and temporarily increases the fluid volume circulating in the blood vessels.

Pharmacokinetics. Excreted renally.

Indications. Normal saline is used to dissolve drug products as well as in large extracellular fluid losses or insufficient fluid intake (toxic dispersion, cholera, diarrhoea, uncontrollable vomiting, extensive burns with severe exudation, etc.), hypochloremia and hyponatremia with water depletion, intestinal obstruction, intoxication, it is also used for washing wounds, eyes, nasal mucosa, for regional perfusion in combination with heparin, antitumor agents and other drugs.

Shelf life: 4 years.
